Project Overview

The International Youth Convocation 2025 was a major global event hosted by the PCMC International Youth Council, designed to bring together young people from across its international branches to celebrate a significant milestone in their ministry. In addition to fostering in-person community, the convocation aimed to reach international audiences through digital platforms, ultimately becoming one of the most streamed and replayed events in PCMC youth history.

The Challenge

The IYC wanted to deliver a powerful experience that resonated with a younger, digitally fluent audience while maintaining the spiritual and organizational values of the church. This required a fresh, contemporary visual identity that could perform seamlessly across print, on-screen, and social platforms with diverse aspect ratios.

Design Approach

The artistic direction prioritized youthful energy and a bold, dynamic look:

- A bright, bold color palette to capture excitement and positivity
- Strong sans-serif typefaces complemented by brush-style typography
- Gritty textures to add depth, movement, and a contemporary edge
- Layouts designed for high flexibility across event signage, broadcast overlays, and social campaigns

This strategy balanced modern appeal with the church’s sense of tradition, ensuring the visuals felt authentic to the audience while elevating the brand.

Process & Collaboration

Planning began with strategy sessions alongside PCMC’s leadership and the youth committees. Once the vision was aligned, I built out stylescapes and design prototypes, iterating based on feedback.

For production:

  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) was used for the bulk of graphic, motion, and animation design.
  • Deliverables were adapted for a variety of formats, including print collateral, video overlays, and social content in 16:9, 9:16, and 4:5 aspect ratios.

Technical Requirements

- Multi-platform social media designs
- Animated lower thirds and overlays for livestream
- Event signage and print materials
- On-brand visual consistency across rapidly shifting content needs

Results

Overall, this project led to the following:

  • One of the most viral and replayed youth events in PCMC history
  • Significantly elevated the standard of branding and content for the organization’s youth initiatives
  • Set a new benchmark for future PCMC digital engagement and event production

Reflection

The International Youth Convocation 2025 demonstrated the power of strong creative systems paired with mission-driven messaging. The ability to blend bold, youthful visuals with a sense of spiritual community showed how effective storytelling can amplify both attendance and impact.
